Interactive Media and Soundpainting Performance with special guests
Fletcher Boote, Elizabeth Devlin, and Mary Joy Patchett
SOUNPAINTING WORKSHOP AT 6PM WITH ARTISTS! JOIN US!
This evening has a little something for all; Fletcher Boote and Michael Lynam Perform an excerpt from ‘If an Ant Should Love You,’ a multi-media performance mapping an inward journey of imperfect consonances. Elizabeth Devlin, a self-produced NYC singer-songwriter, combines soft fluttering vocals, enchanting autoharp melodies and densely packed surreal verses, painting abstract narratives with lyrics that feel more like poetry then song. Mary Joy Patchett performs ‘song cycle for saxophone (version 1.2)’ by Elliot Cless, an open form composition that is designed to transform over time, though retain its overall cyclicality—in the presence of the composer! Round two will feature music by Sofia Gubaidulina and Soundpainting with all performers.
